Termite Control
It doesn’t matter what your home is made of because termites don’t discriminate against brick, block, stucco or even homes built on concrete slabs.
Termites are social insects that live in large colonies where populations can reach more than one million. A colony consists of several structurally differentiated termite forms living together as castes (including reproductives, soldiers, and workers) with different functions in community life.

In the spring, winged reproductives leave the parental nest in swarms to create a new colony. The swarming lasts less than an hour, so it's very likely you'll never even see it. The winged reproductives themselves look quite a bit like flying ants, for which they are often mistaken. |

Signs of infestation?
Termites, by their nature, are hard to find. Thriving in hard-to-reach, inaccessible areas, they eat your home from the inside out. Although there may be only a few indications of termite activity, take a closer look at these warning signs:
• Watch for the “swarm” of winged termites during the day or evening and often after rainfall from February to March, in most areas of the country.
• Check in or around windows and doorframes for termite evidence (wings, etc.)
• Look for “mud tunnels” in or around the foundation, under windows and on walls.
• Watch for pin-sized holes in the wall and woodwork where termites exited during the swarm.
• Tap baseboards and floors to see if they sound hollow — a possible sign of termite infestation.
• Examine window sills and walls for dead termites or termite wings.
• Blistering on sheetrock.

Two Ways We Help Protect You From Termites |
 |
Termidor utilizes an advanced nonrepellent, or "undetectable," liquid technology. That means termites cannot see, smell, taste, or avoid it. Instead, they contact, ingest and share Termidor, completely unaware that doing so will inevitably kill them.
When termites eat Termidor-treated material, they will die. But Termidor doesn't stop there. It kills termites by contact as well. And since termites can't detect its presence, termites directly ingest Termidor. This dual action sets Termidor apart from most other termite control products. |

A pest management professional will inspect your home for termites. If termites are present, the Advance Termite Bait System will be installed in soil around the perimeter of your home. The stations will be checked regularly for termite activity. When termites are found in a station, the Termite Inspection Cartridge (TIC), containing no active ingredient, is replaced with a Termite Bait Cartridge so termites can start feeding on the bait. As termites feed and then travel back to the colony, they share termite bait with other nest mates and send other termites back to feed on the bait. As feeding on the bait continues and more and more termites are affected, the termite colony starts to die and is eliminated. After a colony is eliminated, the bait is replaced with a new inspection cartridge. Your pest professional will continue to inspect the station regularly to discover and treat any new colonies that invade your property. |

Have a Patuxent Pest Solutions inspector look at any potential infestation to determine if it is a termite issue and whether it is active. |
